The stamp mill provided an invaluable need for the early gold miners. Unlike placer deposits that produced gold nuggets already separated from rock, lode gold deposits were of little value if the gold could not be efficiently removed from the host rock. With the gold released from its host, the amalgamation process with mercury could be done, allowing for the final extraction of the gold.
This Stamp Mill dates back to the 1800’s. It has been used at several mines in the Dahlonega area as well as in other states. It was placed on the site in the 1960’s. This Stamp Mill has ten stamps with each one weighing 450 lbs. each. The purpose of the Stamp Mill is to crush gold bearing rock into sand so that it can be processed.
Gold ore. Prominer maintains a team of senior gold processing engineers with expertise and global experience. These gold professionals are specifically in gold processing through various beneficiation technologies, for gold ore of different characteristics, such as flotation, cyanide leaching, gravity separation, etc., to achieve the processing plant of optimal and cost-efficient process designs.
When stamp mills are used for dry crushing, double discharge mortars are provided (see Fig. 50), and the screens are put low down, giving a small depth of discharge. These arrangements are necessitated by the difficulty of discharging the crushed ore from the mortar, the only means of doing this being the dashing of the dry ore against the screens, due to the fall of the stamps.
Stamp mills were used by miners in Samarkand as early as 973. They were used in medieval Persia to crush mineral ores.By the 11th century, stamp mills were in widespread use throughout the medieval Islamic world, from Islamic Spain and North Africa in the west to Central Asia in the east. The basic design has not changed by much other than the drive mechanisms.

Gold processing, preparation of the ore for use in various products.. For thousands of years the word gold has connoted something of beauty or value. These images are derived from two properties of gold, its colour and its chemical stability. The colour of gold is due to the electronic structure of the gold atom, which absorbs electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths less than 5600 angstroms
The success of his experiment opened the door for the industry to cease using mercury for processing gold and silver ore, arriving at an approach to milling that was more efficient and better for the environment. F. S. Lacrouts built the Dazet Mill in 1890 funded by Dazet, with ten stamps crafted refurbished at the Virginia & Truckee Railroad Foundry in Carson City. When Jackson and his
